About Corsair Blue Jazz Orchestra
"That's the real stuff, isn't it? It sounded like the old bands."
2019 was by any measure our most exciting season to date, with many performances in new venues, and exciting new events, along with the traditional events that we are privileged to do every year.
We were thrilled to perform at the Valencia Ballroom in April of 2019 for the Big Swing Thing- a truly historic venue, bringing the music we love to a venue that was built specifically for Big Band Swing.
The centerpiece of our season was also our season closer, our Veterans Day performance and Benefit for Wounded Warrior project at our home, Highland Presbyterian Church. Our collaboration with America's Sweethearts NYC resulted in a spectacular performance featuring the band, our wonderful vocalists Olivia Daugherty and Todd Harris, and the Sweethearts performing classic Andrews Sisters songs with CBJO throughout the evening.
2020 is going to be a very special year , this year marks the 75th Anniversary of the end of the 2nd World War, and we will be doing our best to "Honor Veterans of all Generations with the Music of the Greatest Generation", opening at Big Swing Thing at the Valencia, playing for our Veterans at VAMC Lebanon, 4th Annual Spring Fling with the MTHS Jazz Bands, FoodStock and our season closer Veterans Day Concert with America's Sweethearts NYC at Highland for Wounded Warrior Project- and we hope to see you there! Please see our schedule page for all the opportunities to experience this wonderful music with us in 2020.
"We feel keeping this music alive is not only our passion, but our responsibility..."
